Exploring the latest advances in GPS-based athlete tracking across multiple sports
GPS tracking is used more and more in many team sports, but also in athletics and individual sports. GPS tracking technologies and sport science software enable precise real-time analysis of athlete performance, as well as indicators of load or fatigue for example, whereas Local Positionning Systems (LPS) allow for similar and even more precise assessments of indoor sports. Coupled with other mothering gear and with AI, GPS tracking presents an enourmous potential for applications in a wide range of sport fields, including attenuating the risks of injury, dehydration or overheating.
Université Jean Monnet (UJM) has organised a free, full-day international seminar on developments in GPS tracking applications for athletes in football, rugby, basketball, and athletics, bringing together perspectives from academicians and recognised professional coaching experts. The programme combines applied presentations on data interpretation with round tables for exchange between specialists and with the public.
