Mobility grants

Going Abroad for a Master's Degree

A semester abroad, a full academic year, or just a summer internship abroad? The Graduate School PATHS can support you in your steps for a project related to physical and sports activity, particularly in collaboration with the International Office at JMU. Some options include:

Support via the International Office at JMU

The International Office offers a range of solutions and financial aid for students enrolled at Jean Monnet University who wish to study abroad. Be mindful of deadlines, as some grants must be applied for well in advance.

The networks of faculty researchers at G.S. PATHS

In our specific fields of expertise, we have numerous international contacts whose research interests and availability we are already familiar with. Depending on the nature of your project, we may be able to help you find host institutions, including for specialisations not offered in Saint-Étienne. Feel free to contact us, and together we will explore possible opportunities and ways to support you.

Mobility within the Transform for Europe (T4EU) Alliance

Jean Monnet University is a member of the Transform for Europe University Alliance (T4EU), which includes ten universities across ten European Union countries. The alliance works to facilitate mobility and collaboration between member universities. The Graduate School PATHS already has connections with T4EU network departments involved in physical and sports activities to promote and support exchanges and collaborations with these partners.

Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region Scholarships

The Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region offers mobility grants for students enrolled in a higher education institution within the region. These grants are provided on a weekly basis for periods ranging from four weeks to one semester.

Support for International Collaboration in Doctoral Studies

During a PhD, international collaboration mainly takes two forms: doctoral co-supervision (cotutelle), involving a co-supervisor from a foreign institution, and individual mobility, which may or may not be covered by the doctoral funding.

The Graduate School PATHS offers support to both supervisors and PhD candidates in securing funding to facilitate co-supervisions and international mobility related to their doctoral research.

Fellowships & research collaborations

The promotion and support of research staff mobility is a key driver of excellence and a means to develop new collaborations. The programs currently offered within the framework of the G.S. PATHS include:

Mobility within the T4EU University Alliance

The European university alliance Transform 4 Europe (T4EU), of which UJM is a member, offers various mobility opportunities for faculty researchers. The Graduate School PATHS has established connections with teams interested in physical activity at T4EU partner institutions and can assist you in realizing your mobility project.

Mobility within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA)

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) represent the "People" component of Pillar I of the Horizon Europe research funding programme, providing individual training and career development opportunities through research-based training and international mobility. The Graduate School PATHS can provide information and assistance in setting up MSCA projects and aims to promote the use of these opportunities in collaboration with a growing network of European and international partners.
